It may have taken a few years too many for Upstate brutal slam kings Skinless to re-emerge from inactivity, but armed with their original frontman Sherwood Webber, a new guitarist Dave Matthews, and a renewed sense of urgency, the boys are back. Whether this means Skinless will tour an inhuman amount like they used to remains to be seen, but that doesn’t matter right now. The important part about all this is one of Relapse Records’ most noticeable names and the band who brought us such classics as Foreshadowing Our Demise, From Sacrifice To Survival, and Progression Through Evil proved this weekend that they can deliver more severe beatings than most bands half their age. New song Serpenticide just kills, and brings the band right where they should be at this stage in their career…right where they always were. Hitting that sweet spot of primo slam death. Can’t wait to see what the band pumps out next.
